I have always loved the ocean and dreamed of living beneath the deep blue sea. Whales are magnificent creatures and have an incredible beauty and delicacy despite their enormous size. This mother and baby is an example of what lies within.

I had to do this painting over a period of time. There were a lot of legs in it and I wanted to step away from the "technicality" of the piece. It takes a certain state of mind to free-flow and eventually I was ready to add all the color. :)

I created this piece for my brother. He is the Principal of an elementary school and was in need of a new leopard design for the school mascot. My color choices were limited to royal blue and white which was challenging, but I am happy with the end result!! I would personally hang this on the outside of my office with a "Don't Do Drugs" warning under it, or maybe a "Bring Me Coffee"
demand. Endless possibilities!! ;) -S
